Graduating students from Orillia area Secondary Schools, the Learning Centre, and Simcoe Shores Secondary School are invited each year to apply for a Scholarship. CFUW Orillia Education Foundation Board members thoroughly review the applications and the scholarships are awarded to deserving applicants in June. The criteria are primarily based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and financial need. Every aspect is weighed carefully before the decisions are made. The application forms are available in early January with a submission deadline of mid-April.
In 2024, 30 students will receive scholarships ranging from $750 to $2300, totaling $38,000. Since we started awarding scholarships in 1974, $441,975 has been awarded to 779 young women.
