The Scholarship Fund supports young women of Orillia who plan to pursue post-secondary education. Since 1974 we have awarded $403,975 in scholarships to 749 young women pursuing post-secondary education. The application process considers academic achievements as well as community and school involvement.

In June, 2023, 22 young women from Patrick Fogarty Secondary School, Orillia Secondary School, Twin Lakes Secondary School, and Ecole Nouvelle Alliance were granted a scholarship ranging from $500 to $1,700 for a total of $28,000. Two special scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each were awarded to the Lakehead University Humanities 101 program. Two students also each received a scholarship of $1,350 from the Bev Long Memorial fund. CFUW Orillia Education Foundation’s 2023 scholarships totalled $32,700.

This year’s deserving students met the criteria of Academic Ability, Integrity, Love of Learning, Leadership, and School and Community Involvement. We wish these amazing young women every success in the future.

Scholarship funds provided to students have been primarily raised through the annual CFUW Orillia Homes for Scholarships Tour and this successful event will be continued.

All money that is donated goes directly to providing scholarships for young women in the Orillia area who are pursuing post-secondary education.
