$14,060 Raised for Scholarships for Women.

An exhibit and sale was held at Creative Nomad Studios between September 10-12 and 14-16 for a unique retrospective of Marlene Bulas’ work entitled Honouring Marlene Bulas. The exhibit honoured Bulas’ career and life’s journey with over 60 of her paintings on display and for sale in support of CFUW Orillia Education Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.

A highlight of the 6-day event was a reception on September 11, where Marlene Bulas herself, a long-time CFUW Orillia member, joined family, friends, and supporters to witness the overwhelming success of the show. One of the organizers, Janet Houston, shared: Thanks to CFUW Orillia members, established collectors, friends of the Bulas family, and the public, sales of Marlene’s paintings in support of CFUW Orillia Education Foundation vastly exceeded our expectations.”

Marlene has been a long-time member of CFUW, Orillia, and donated many of her paintings to their fundraising efforts. Proceeds from this fundraiser, over $14,000, will provide scholarships specifically for women enrolled in an arts program.

President of CFUW Orillia Education Foundation, Marci Csumrik, stated, “I am proud that this exhibit not only honours the extraordinary talent of Marlene Bulas but also invests in the next generation of women pursuing their education. Every scholarship we award helps open doors, builds confidence, and creates opportunities that strengthen both our community and the future”.
